Turf Systems Inc. is a Chicagoland firm, whose sole purpose is to provide superior quality turf surfaces. The company was founded in 1993 by Don Snelten. He spent several years as a P.G.A. apprentice and over a decade in soil and landscape construction. In 1992, Don sought to build his own backyard putting green. He purchased samples from numerous different companies, trying different sanding techniques with the specifications provided by those manufacturers. He was generally unpleased with the performance of these products. After nearly a year of research and development, Turf Systems Inc. was born.

The company's first large project was completed in 1996 with the opening of the Nordome, a 40,000 square foot indoor golf facility featuring target greens and short game putting greens. After rave reviews, other golf domes sought the company's expertise such as Addison Links & Tees, Poplar Creek Golf Dome, as well as the Golf Dome of Ft. Wayne. 1998 Saw the completion of Chicagoland's first multi-level tee area synthetic surfaced golf range and Turf Systems Inc. was there from conthrough installation.  In 2001, Chicago's first synthetic par 3 golf course was constructed; and once again Turf Systems Inc. was there from the earth shaping, pond construction and bunker building, through the installation of the synthetic greens and tees. During the same period of time, countless homeowners installed Turf Systems Inc. putting greens.
